אני אוהבת את התקופה שלפני החגים
היום ירד אצלנו גשם
והבית נמלא בריח נפלא של סתיו…
{חיוך רחב}
לכבוד ראש השנה נפתחת בקיבוץ
תערוכת אמנים בנושא "הבית".
היות שאני באה מעולם הטקסטיל,
היה לי ברור שזה הכיוון שלי לנושא.
חפשתי דרך להביע את המשפט-
houses are built of bricks and beams
.homes are made of love and dreams
נזכרתי בכרית בית בובות שראיתי פעם
בבלוג ילדיסקו, ובהשראתה הכנתי לתערוכה
כרית בצורת בית.
הבית כמקום רך ונעים,
שתמיד כיף לשים בו את הראש על כרית
ולהתכרבל…
ניסיתי להעביר את ההרגשה שלי
שבעצם ה"בית" נמצא היכן שהלב נמצא…
בכל הבתים והדירות בהם גרתי,
{גם בשכורות שבהן}
תמיד היתה הרגשת חמימות ונעימות,
ותמיד הרגשתי "בבית".
ברגע שהבאתי אליהם את הפריטים שאני אוהבת
וילונות, שטיחים, דובים…
זה מה שהופך עבורי את הבית the house
לבית שהוא a home
השתמשתי בבדים חדשים ובבדים וסרטי תחרה ישנים
שיש להם ערך נוסטלגי עבורי,
כי גם הבית שלי בנוי על חדש וישן
על דברים שקורים בו היום
ועל הזכרונות שהבאתי אליו.
על שילוב של ריהוט ישן שמקבל צורה
וחיים חדשים.
התיפורים כולם raw edge
כדי לתת לעבודה נופך ציורי משהו,
וגם כי בבית , כמו בכל דבר,
יש סוג של אי שלמות,
אבל זו האי שלמות שלי!

שבה אני מרגישה הכי בנוח.
והארובה שנתפרה כידית
מזכירה ידית של תיק
ומדגישה שאת כל זה בעצם
ניתן תמיד לקחת איתנו ממקום למקום.
I love this time of year,
just before the holidays…
we had rain here today
and the house was filled with a great autumn smell…
{big smile}
in honor of the "rosh hashana"
{the beginning of the year}
we're opening a local artists exhibition
titled "house".
as I come from the textile world
it was obvious to me that I'll be making something with fabrics,
and I was looking for a way to express the phrase-
houses are built of bricks and beams
.homes are made of love and dreams
I remembered a doll house pillow I once saw
on yeladisco blog, and it inspired me
to make my own house shaped pillow.
a house as a soft and cozy place,
the place where it always nice to put ones head on a pillow
and cuddle…
I tried to pass this feeling I have
that home is actually where the heart is.
in all the houses and flats I lived in
{even the rented ones}
there was always a feeling of warmth and ease,
and I always felt "at home"
as soon as I brought in all my favorite items
curtains, carpets, teddy bears…
that for me is what makes THE HOUSE
into A HOME
{in hebrew these two words are the same}
in my work I used new fabrics and old ones
who have a nostalgic value for me,
because my home is also built on the new and the old.
it's built on the stuff that's happening today
and the memories I brought to it.
it contains old furniture who gets a new look
and a new leaf of life.
all the stitches are raw edge
to give my work a feel of somewhat a hand painted effect,
and also because at home, like in all other aspects of life,
there's a curtain imperfection,
but this is MY imperfection!

a one where I feel most comfortable in.
the chimney was sewn as a handle,
reminds a bag's handle
and emphasizes the point that all of that
is actually something we can always carry with us
from one place to another.
