חנוכה הוא לא החג שלה,
והפוסטים האחרונים שלה עוסקים יותר
בחורף הקר
ובקריסמס הקרב ובא,
אבל יש משהו בדרך שבה
היא "לוכדת" יופי, אהבה
ופגמים מושלמים של חייה
באמצעות צילומים יפהפיים,
שגרם לי לכתוב לה.
הסברתי על קצת על חנוכה,
שזו חגיגה של אורות,
ושאני אשמח להשראה
מזוית אחרת לנושא…
ואני חושבת שקבלתי!

לכבוד הוא לי ששרון בקשה ממני לכתוב פוסט אורח
כאן ב – gonna be 40!
אני גרה בקנדה, ליד טורונטו, שם ימי החורף שלנו קרים
(ומתחילים להיות קרים עוד יותר!) וחושך יורד כל כך מהר.
בזמן אחרון, אני כבר כמיהה לנוחות של קרן אור של שמש
ולאיכות הקסומה שהיא מטילה על היום,
כי החורף מטייל בשדות שלג,
עם השמש שמתנוצצת עליו כמו תכשיטים.
אבל כאשר האור הוא נדיר, כפי שהוא עכשיו,
זה יכול להיות אתגר לחבק את היום ולשמור על תחושה של אופטימיות והרפתקה.
אנחנו עמוק בתוך "ימים האפורים" כאן, זמן שבו חושך יכול לגרום להרגשה של מצוקה.
תקופה קשה בין הגוונים הזהובים של סתיו ועד
לאור הנשגב של השנה החדשה.
אבל יחד עם זאת יש גם סקרנות, כלפי הלילות החשוכים האלה של החורף.
סקרנות מנחמת שבאור הירח.
פנסי רחוב מאירים ענפים חשופים עדינים
ואת הנשימה החמה של אנשים שנעים בשקט בלילה.
לאחרונה, כשבני הבית שלי שכבו לישון, התעטפתי היטב וחמקתי בשקט החוצה
אל תוך הלילה כדי לחפש את המשחקים שבאור.
אני מאושרת עם מה שמצאתי,
ואני מקווה שתמונות אלה יביאו קצת קסם ליום שלך!

I live near Toronto, Canada where our winter days are cold
.and getting colder!) and darkness falls so quickly)
Lately, I’ve been yearning for the comfort of sunlight and the magical
,quality it casts on the day, for winter walks through fields of snow
.with sunshine glistening upon it like jewels
But when light is scarce, as it is now, it can be a challenge
.to embrace the day with a sense of optimism and adventure
.We’re deep in the “grey days” here, a time when darkness can feel like hardship
A difficult period between the golden tones of autumn and the
.transcendent light of the new year
.But there’s an intrigue as well to these dark, winter nights
.Moonlight casts its own curious comfort
Street lamps illuminate the pattern of delicate bare branches
.and warm wisps of breath as people move swiftly, silently through the night
Recently, as my house lay sleeping, I bundled up and slipped quietly
.into the night to search out light at play
,I’m thrilled with what I found
